I would think that Remy is waiting for the Ventoux.

Yeah, I agree. Although, he lost another 14 minutes today. This looks like it is simply a training race for him to get some miles in his legs. He might try something on Ventoux. It's not the difficult ascent or go to the summit though.

He's just losing time, making sure that he can get away on the Ventoux without getting the GCs all frisky.

Did you see the cycling news article that started like this:
“Something must have changed in cycling: long lasting breakaways can now succeed.”

Ha! Yes, the best riders and teams have been unfairly excluded! That is what has changed!

I do not know about Voigt. Maybe he is on a little different training plan this year. He didn't seem to do much in CA, either.

Didn't see the cyclingnews article. Maybe it is the team selection but my hunch is they were alluding to a supposed decrease in doping, making it more difficult to bring back escapes.

well, i guess JV changed his training plan. that was a rocket attack on the break, wonder if he really needed to do that and if he wouldn't have done better to save it for the end.

He also has a newborn that spent some time in intensive care. He said he spent a couple weeks off the bike.
