Ride: 1.5 hrs on the trainer. (mostly 52x17)
Resting Heartrate:
Comments: I felt pretty poor on the trainer today. Maybe its the rib injury. (pain is still my riding partner) Maybe it was another week of not riding Wed, Thurs, Fri. Whatever it is, my legs did not feel very strong or fast. I could turn the pedals okay but attempts to increase intensity did not produce much result. This is the type of day that hurts the morale. You just feel slow. The season seems close and you seem far away from race shape. Patience is needed and realization that you have been riding well. There is plenty of time to get well and maybe tomorrow will be a better ride.

Ride: Spinning class
Resting Heartrate:
Comments: Going to Spinning class tonight. Chest still hurts with certain movements. With any luck it won't bother me during class. If necessary, I will just stay in the saddle.

Ride: Rest Day
Resting Heartrate:
Comments: Sundays 'cross race in Edwardsville was a challenge. When I first arrived and did a few warm-up laps everything was good because it was still cool. As the day warmed up and bikes continually went over the same spots the course got continuously slicker. Naturally, this was course with lots a good amount of twisty trail. I was fishtailing alot for the last half of the race. Finally, my luck caught up to me on the last lap and while going down a steep downhill my front tire hit either a tree root or just slipped on the mud. I steered wildly 3 or 4 times in an effort to stay upright. Somehow it worked but not without some bodily damage. My right foot unclipped and my knee jammed into the handlebar. After the race the left side of my chest, right by the heart, started to have some pain whenever I moved the wrong way. Kind of scary but I am sure that I bruised something inside or pulled a muscle. Today it still bothers me and my guess is it will take several days to heal.

Ride: A category at the Edwardsville CX
Resting Heartrate:
Comments: Rode for about about 50 minutes after the race. Was pretty tired and couldn't push things very hard. The sore chest didn't help.
